RCM kills half ounce timberwolf coin

According to Coin World. October 30, 2006 edition

Introduced in September 2005, the 2006 dated 1/2 ounce coin hasn't been minted in two months and no more will be made.

Get them while you can. A single year type coin.

It was really hard to make a good scan this coin. The queen has all shiny surfaces with no frosting.

My problems with them are the higher premium and the moon.

The premium is really, really high. I'm not sure if they will have numismatic value given their relatively limited run, but buying them as a silver investment isn't all that wonderful because of the really high cost.

My second problem is the moon. Despite it being behind the timberwolf's head, it's actually raised on the coin. When I see one in person, I actually find them really ugly because of the big distracting circular lump that draws your eye away from any of the nice detail.

I would actually call them ugly rather than beautiful.

The side with the image of the queen certainly could have been improved on...

She looked better back on the 1989 and previous maples. They should have stuck with that design.

The short muzzle and short ears make it resemble a fox more than a wolf. JMO.
